PMAC opens its doors on 12 May 2026

The PMAC will officially open its doors on “12 May 2026”. The launch will take place in three phases in order to ensure a smooth, efficient and fully supported rollout of services.

We are pleased to inform you that on 24 April 2026, the procedural rules of the Patent Mediation and Arbitration Centre (PMAC) of the Unified Patent Court (UPC) were formally approved and adopted by the Administrative Committee of the UPC and PMAC.

This marks an important milestone in the establishment of a modern and efficient framework for alternative dispute resolution in patent-related matters.

The PMAC will officially open its doors on *12 May 2026*. The launch will take place in three phases in order to ensure a smooth, efficient and fully supported rollout of services.

In the first phase, commencing on 12 May 2026, the Centre will provide support to parties seeking_ ADR information sessions_ and _mediation services_. The second phase will introduce expert determination services, followed later in the year by the launch of arbitration services.

  From 12 May 2026, parties will be able to submit requests for proceedings through the Centre’s new Case Management System (CCMS).
